Billy Costello, Voice Of Popeye

I've tried hard to get some biographical info on Costello who originated the voice of cartoon character Popeye, but unfortunately very little can be found on the net.

I had some of his 78s in the 1940s which he had recorded around 1935. I have previously shared and received some of them with fellow blogger Boot Sale Sounds, and these are all that I have.

Here they are:

Hi Raz,

You're very welcome!

I visit your great jazz blog every day and you have some wonderful stuff.

May I request something?

It's very unlikely that you would have this - it's very old - but I've been hunting for and LP by the great George Van Eps called "Mellow Guitar".

I have a lot of LPs that I intend digitizing, including some Kessel that you may not have (live at Montreux).

By the way, did you grab "The John Lewis Piano"? It's absolutely indispensable.

Best wishes and thanks for your nice message.

Thanks Mel

I tried the links you sent using sendspace, unfortunately they do not work any more "sniff sniff"....

However I have started a new blog designed specifically for Turner Classic Movies Music under the web address - http://turnerclassicmoviesmusic.blogspot.com/

Perhaps you could post some new links in there....
